The medicine was highly specialized. The public experience had to make it approachable.
San Diego Sexual Medicine opened in one of the most sensitive categories of patient care. Patients often begin their search privately, with questions they may not yet be ready to discuss. The practice needed to feel medically authoritative, discreet, and human from the first encounter.
Keeks built the launch foundation: identity, website, patient-facing language, service structure, appointment paths, and the early practice materials needed to introduce specialized care clearly. That first build became the foundation for a relationship that has continued since 2008.

One relationship, expanding since 2008.
The launch was the beginning. Over the years the same partnership grew into a trust system, an education platform, and an ongoing digital practice. Four stages show how the work connected and expanded.
- 01Launch foundationIdentity, website, patient-facing language, service structure, and early practice materials.
- 02Patient trust systemMessaging, visual language, appointment paths, materials, and consistent public communication.
- 03Education platformConditions, risk factors, diagnostic tests, treatments, illustrations, video, and specialized initiatives.
- 04Ongoing digital partnershipMonthly website governance, SEO, content updates, marketing support, and continued improvement.
Trust had to be built before the appointment.
Sexual medicine requires a difficult balance. The practice had to explain what it treated clearly without sounding sensational, vague, or intimidating. Patients needed enough information to recognize whether the care might be relevant while still feeling protected and respected.
Keeks developed the identity, visual language, messaging, patient materials, and digital surfaces around that balance. The system gave San Diego Sexual Medicine a consistent way to communicate with patients, referral partners, research participants, and the wider medical community.

The website became the practice’s explanation layer.
Before contacting the clinic, patients needed to understand conditions, risk factors, diagnostic tests, treatments, clinicians, and what the evaluation process involved. The website had to support private research while still providing a clear path toward care.
Keeks designed, wrote, structured, and continues to maintain that experience. The largest content build became an extensive sexual medicine knowledge system spanning male and female sexual health, with connected pages for issues, risk factors, diagnostic tests, and treatments.

Some parts of care needed more than copy.
Medical illustrations, video, microsites, and clinical trial materials helped the practice explain complex topics and specific initiatives more clearly. In a sensitive category, those surfaces had to inform without becoming graphic, promotional, or impersonal.
Keeks developed the visual and campaign systems around San Diego Sexual Medicine’s clinical expertise, supporting patient education, trial awareness, media, and specialized digital experiences while keeping the practice’s public voice consistent.
That included the Institute for Sexual Medicine, the non-profit research and education organization founded by the practice’s director. Keeks created its logo, brand, and marketing campaigns, and built its website.
Keeks’ role
- Translation
- Design
- Structure
- Communication
- Visual explanation
- Campaign and digital execution
The practice and its clinicians supply the clinical expertise, diagnoses, treatments, and research. Keeks supports how that expertise is translated, designed, and communicated.

The launch became a long-running digital system.
Since 2008, the website, services, clinical initiatives, and patient questions have continued to change. Pages need revision. Search behavior shifts. Materials fall out of sync. New programs require clear public communication.
Keeks continues to manage the brand, website, SEO, content, materials, video production, and monthly planning behind that work. The value is continuity: one team keeps the public experience current without rebuilding the context every time the practice changes.
Work across four layers.
One practice. All four layers. Strategy, brand, website, and operations had to move together.
