EcoChi is a design approach that combines green and sustainable practices, wellness studies and spiritual design philosophies attained from various ancient cultures. As our first Angel Award recipient, we helped create a brand that represents the values that are most needed by humanity; rediscovering the importance of nature, incorporating the outdoors into our workday, and becoming more eco-friendly in our daily lives. Recycled materials and organic design were used to convey the sense of nature through custom fonts, colors and tactile feedback.
A 6x world Jiu Jitsu champion and an IBJJF hall of fame inductee, Alexandre “Xande” Ribeiro is one of the all-time greatest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioners and instructors. We worked with him to create an iconic logo that represented his tenacity, fluidity of movement and incredible balance. The result is a mark that is easily distinguished within the crowded, logo-heavy world of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academies.
We discovered Touch A Truck one year in San Diego, and were immediately struck by their story. We volunteered to create their branding for the event that year, offering our services for free. We enjoyed getting to know the founders, and felt great being able to give to such an important, selfless society.
Sputtens is one of the favorite brands that we've worked with. We helped create branding from the ground up, providing logo, web and product creation, as well as providing product feedback. We created a custom online gaming center, complete with drag and drop "Dress-a-Sputten," a branded coloring book for download and a custom horizontal parallaxing Sputten world for children to explore and learn about the characters.
An Angel Award recipient, The Prasad Foundation needed a brand makeover to reflect the dedicated effort made towards rescuing and rehabilitating animals. Since they focus primarily on horses and dogs, we wanted to create a logo that reflected the incredible amount of love involved in every case. The branding has also been applied to marketing, product design and the web. We're extremely proud to have helped Prasad make a difference in these animals lives.
Founded In 2003 to preserve, enhance and create affordable housing in California, Reiner Communities makes it possible for low income residents to have quality, safe and attractive housing. We were given the job of creating brands for each of their community locations, from logo and signage, to photo processing and website design and development. We're proud to have helped create beautiful living atmospheres for families looking for better.
In 2005 Colonel Tom Slick started the Sandwich Spot, and in 2010 Captain Jack and Col Tom Slick joined forces, and the mother of all Sandwich Spots, from which the others were all born, was opened in the fabulous Marina District of SF. We rebranded the company from the ground up, focusing on the unique classic car, tattoo and surfing culture found in the Bay Area. Work included keeping a consistent brand across multiple media types including signage, apparel and the web.
Located in La Mesa, California, Jiu Jitsu Foundation offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in a friendly, family-based atmosphere. We were tasked with creating an identity that was bold and stood out from the crowd of gym logos. We designed a mark that translated well to signage, apparel, products and even tattoos (yes, several members are now marked for life). We loved working with JJF, and train at the academy whenever we are visiting San Diego.
We worked with Wolfgang's Vault over a period of four years. We were responsible for updating and maintaining the brand across several platforms, including satellite companies that were bought and merged. From advertising in global magazines and sponsored advertising pitches, to product, digital and event design, we did it all. Rock on!
It's not easy creating a martial arts clothing company. When we were approached with the mission of creating "something minimalist, yet hip and modern," we jumped at the chance. We found the niche between hardcore fight sports and surf culture in San Diego, and created a brand that celebrates respect, strength and honor. We had a blast - after all, who doesn't want to be associated with badasses?
